FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Five Snider High School seniors put pen to paper Thursday, fully committing to playing athletics at the collegiate level.

Jazlynn Davis, Mason McMurtry, Taylor Weldon, Jade Linnemeier and Jason Marquardt celebrated their signings with family, coaches, teammates and friends.

Davis signed her national letter of intent to join Trine University’s women’s soccer program. Davis earned All-Summit Athletic Conference honors on the pitch this past season. She plays her club soccer at Fort Wayne Sport Club. She hopes to one day be a physicians assistant.

McMurtry, a pitcher on the Snider baseball team, signed with Ivy Tech Community College Northeast’s upstart baseball team.

Weldon is joining the women’s bowling program at Lourdes University, an NAIA school in Sylvania, Ohio.

Linnemeier will play softball at Lansing Community College. An accomplished athlete, she previously earned All-SAC honors in basketball as a sophomore.

Marquardt will play hockey at Trine. He is wrapping up his season with the Summit City Panthers of the Fort Wayne Amateur Hockey Association. The Panthers won a state championship a year ago.

Snider is one of 25 local high schools that partners with Parkview Sports Medicine for athletic training, nutrition, athletic rehabilitation and orthopedic services for Panther athletes.
