Wabash's Vander Velden to play for to Missouri Southern State football

WABASH, Ind. - Two-way Wabash High School football player Logan Vander Velden will continue his playing career at Missouri State Southern University.

Vander Velden, a senior, signed his letter of intent to join the NCAA Division II school in Joplin, Mo.

While at Wabash, he played linebacker and wide receiver for the Apaches. This pasts season, he tallied 95 tackles 6 interceptions and 1 sack on defense, and caught 41 passes for 622 yards and 7 touchdowns on offense. He'll stick to linebacker at MSSU.

Wabash is one of 25 local high schools that partners with Parkview Sports Medicine for athletic training, nutrition, athletic rehabilitation and orthopedic services for Apache athletes.
