Canterbury's Mauch named state soccer coach of year for 6th time

INDIANAPOLIS - Longtime Canterbury boys soccer coach Greg Mauch has once again won the state's top coaching honor.

Mauch has been named the 2018 Indiana Soccer Coaches Association Men's Coach of the Year after his Cavaliers won back-to-back 1A state championships--and their 7th all-time--this past season. 

It marks the 6th time in Mauch's 33 seasons as Canterbury head coach that he has been named the state's Men's Coach of the Year. In addition to the 7 state titles, Mauch has led Canterbury to 2 state runner-up finishes, 12 semi-state titles, 15 regional championships and 19 sectional championships. He coached his 500th career victory at the 2017 sectional championship; and he was inducted into the Indiana Soccer Hall of Fame in 2005.

He was named the National Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in 1998, and won the NSCAA's Robinson Award for long-time service to high school soccer in 2017. He was inducted into the Indiana Soccer Hall of Fame in 2005.
