Northrop's Hayden, Warstler ink college plans

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Two Northrop High School seniors inked their college plans Wednesday as part of National Signing Day ceremonies in the Bruin Room.

 

Baseball player Jack Hayden signed on to join Indiana Tech’s NAIA program. Hayden was a 1st team All-Summit Athletic Conference selection as a junior and a member of the 2016 conference and sectional championship team. He pitches and plays outfield. For his career, he is 4-1 as a starting pitcher. At the plate, he bats .309 with 51 hits, including 10 doubles and 1 triple. He plans to study sports media.

 

Hannah Warstler will continue her soccer career at Franklin College, an NCAA Division III program in Franklin, Ind. Warstler earned some level of All-SAC honors all four seasons, and was captain for the Lady Bruins as a senior. She is tied for 2nd all-time on Northrop’s career goal-scoring list (47) and 4th all-time in career assists (20). She plans to study psychology.
