KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Both Indiana Tech and Huntington University’s athletic programs have earned an award for their hard work in academics by the NAIA.

The two colleges received the Champion of Character Five-Star Institution Award for the 2017-2018 academic school year.

The award is based not only on academic success but also on criteria such as character training, conduct in competition, character recognition, and character promotion.

The NAIA schools have a possibility to earn a total of 100 points in the 5 different areas of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

Scoring 90 to 100 points will earn a university the highest level of scoring: gold, which both Indiana Tech and Huntington received.

This is Indiana Tech’s second time receiving this award, while it is Huntington University’s eighth time.
