FORT WAYNE, Ind. - For the second time in three years, Parkview Field has been named the nation’s best stadium for Class-A minor league baseball.
The downtown home of the Fort Wayne TinCaps won Best of the Ballparks for all Class-A stadiums from Ballpark Digest. The online competition featured 30 teams in a bracket-style fan vote.
After a first-round bye, Parkview Field advanced through 4 rounds of competition, eventually knocking off Four Winds Field, home of the South Bend Cubs, in the finals by nearly a 2-to-1 margin. The TinCaps and Parkview Field will receive a trophy later this year, team officials say.
Parkview Field has won numerous accolades in 10 seasons of being open. Stadium Journey magazine ranked Parkview Field as the No. 1 fan ballpark experience in Minor League Baseball for the last 4 years.
In additional to the professional games held, Parkview Field is the host for the annual Parkview Sports Medicine Baseball Series, which allows local high school and college teams to play at such a magnificent stadium as young men.
