FORT WAYNE, Ind. - North Side’s boys basketball conquered the Parkview Sports Medicine SAC Holiday Tournament again Saturday, winning an unprecedented fifth-straight championship.
The top-seeded Legends knocked off 3-seed South Side 90-62 at Wayne High School.
The first half was fairly close, with North Side taking a 36-29 lead at the break. North Side blew the game open in the second half, outscoring the Archers 54-33.
Guard Austin Boucher led all scores with 27 points. Forward Keion Brooks, Jr., added 25. Lucas Kroft put in 17. Brooks averaged 18.8 points for the tournament
For South Side, forward Courtney Shorter scored 21 points, while Mikale Stevenson dropped 19. Stevenson averaged 22 points over 3 games.
North Side’s fifth consecutive Parkview Sports Medicine SAC Holiday Tournament championship betters the conference record set a year ago. Seniors Brandan Johnson and Alijah Long have won tourney titles all four years, while Boucher wins his first.
