FORT WAYNE, Ind.– A 35,000 square foot expansion of the SportONE/Parkview Fieldhouse, 3946 Ice Way, is now complete. In partnership with Parkview Sports Medicine, the expanded Fieldhouse features a new multi-purpose athletics area that will allow for additional basketball and volleyball courts, as well as pickleball. A new mezzanine also overlooks the courts, allowing for additional spectator seating.
Also included in the expansion are new offices for Parkview Athletic Rehabilitation.
“We began this expansion with three things in mind: Kids, families and our community,” said Todd Ramsey, general manager, SportONE/Parkview Fieldhouse. “This new space allows us to better serve all three, extend our services to a greater number of visitors and create a better experience overall. As always, Parkview Sports Medicine has been a great partner, one who also shares our community-minded spirit.”
The SportONE/Parkview Fieldhouse currently supports clubs like Always100, Club1, Summit Volleyball, Fort Wayne Futsal and the Gym Rats. The Gym Rats alone are expected to draw approximately 80,875 visitors to the city in the 2016 – 2017 season, worth an estimated $15.5 million in visitor spending, according to Visit Fort Wayne.
“The Fieldhouse will facilitate an impressive economic impact on our city this year,” said Dan O’Connell, president and CEO, Visit Fort Wayne. “Fort Wayne continues to develop into a top youth sports destination, and that is in large part thanks to Parkview Sports Medicine and the Fieldhouse. With an expanded facility, we’ll be able to welcome more visitors this year and continue to showcase all the great things our city has to offer.”
